Skill Details: The students who took her last class at our shop gave rave reviews. They were amazed at how simple the process was compared to the results. It is all straight or zigzag stitching.
Materials Included: Kit includes fabric-covered art frame, batting and lining, and fabrics pre-backed.
Requirements: Sewing machine with open toe foot, LARGE glue stick (Elmer's Craft Bond Extra Strength), Scissors - small and sharp for fussy cutting, Tweezers, Rotary cutter - 28mm or 45mm, Black Sharpie permanent marker or pencil, Thread (light gray, medium gray, dark charcoal gray, shiny white, invisible thread (smoky), black bobbin thread, white bobbin thread, slate blue.
Instructor Bio: To learn more about Susan and her work, visit Dr. Susan Kruszynski, current educator, master storyteller, and fabric artist. Susan, at age 8, began experimenting with fabrics to produce colorful artistic creations. Her teaching skills developed from earning a teaching degree with majors in speech and history, an MA in reading, and a PhD in education from several Michigan universities. Retiring from 31 years of full-time teaching, she currently teaches part time at MCC and has started the business Quilting Fabrics In Time. Her work has appeared in many recent Michigan art contests.
