Fabric requirements for 2 Placemats (You can make up to 10 Placemats with the
foundation papers in your pack. Simply multiply the yardage for every 2 placemats
you want to make):
C1: 2/3 yd for Background
C2: 1/8 yd for Flying Geese and Accent Strips
Binding: 1/3 yd
Backing: 2/3 yd
Sewing machine in good working order, fitted with your 1/4-inch piecing foot
Notions:
Two rulers: one long ruler (24” recommended) and one smaller (6” to 12”)
12” Add-a-Quarter Ruler
2-3” x 12” piece of Template Plastic
Rotary Cutter with a fresh blade
Cutting Mat
Pressing Mat and Small Iron
50 wt Cotton Thread and Bobbin
Size 70-80 needle (Microtex recommended)
Small Scissors for trimming treads
Pen, Paper and Highlighter for taking notes
Purple Thang or Stiletto
Seam Ripper
Scotch Tape
Jumbo Paper Clips (about 20)
2 Ziplock Bags, gallon size
Fabric Glue Pen (Sewline, Fons & Porter, or similar)
Scotch Repositionable (Restickable) Glue Stick
Sharpie Marker, any color except black
Acorn Starch Pen w/Acorn Easy Press Fabric Treatment Refill (optional)
