Haystack Cookies Table Runner

Required Pattern:  Haystack Cookies by Quiltworx.com

Fabric Requirements:
(10) 10" Squares for background
(10) 2-1/2" x 42" Strips (width of fabric) for Spikes
(2) 6-1/2" Squares for Solid Squares
Binding:  3/8 yd
Backing:  1/2 yd

Fabric Note:  You should pair each Background fabric to a Spike fabric.  Check that you have the amount of contrast between these fabrics to achieve the look that you want.  The layout can be as scrappy or as coordinated as you'd like.  

Sewing machine in good working order, fitted with an open tow 1/4-inch piecing foot.

Notions:

Ruler (12" long is recommended)
12" Add-a-Quarter Ruler
2-3" x 12" piece of Template Plastic
Rotary Cutter with a fresh blade
Cutting Mat
Pressing Mat and Small Iron
50wt Cotton Thread and Bobbin
Size 70-80 needle (Microtex recommended)
Small Scissors for trimming threads
Paper Cutting Scissors
Pen, Paper and Highlighter for taking notes
Seam Ripper
Scotch Tape
Jumbo Paper Clips (about 15)
1 Ziplock Bag, gallon size
Fabric Glue Pen (Sewline, Fons & Porter or similar)
Scotch Repositionable (Restickable) Glue Stick -- Note that some other brands are only repositionable for a certain amount of time, such as 5        minutes, before drying.  You DO NOT want that type of glue stick.
Sharpie Marker, any color except black
Purple Thang or Stiletto (optional)
Acorn Starch Pen w/Acorn Easy Press Fabric Treatment Refill (optional)
Tweezers (optional)
