Required Pattern: Lotus Flower by Quiltworx.com
Fabric requirements:
BE1: 1/2 yd (or 16”) for Curved Petals
BE2: 1/2 yd (or 16”) for Curved Petals
BE3: 1/8 yd (4-1/2”) for Center Spikes
BE4: 1/8 yd (4-1/2”) for Center Spikes
BE5: 1 yd (or 34”) for Background, Cut into (2) 11” strips and (1) 12” strip
BE6: 1/4 yd (or 5”) for Outer Split Spikes, Cut into (2) 2-1/2” strips
BE7: 1/4 yd (or 6”) for Outer Split Spikes, Cut into (2) 3” strips
BE8: 1/4 yd (or 6”) for Inner Border, Cut into (4) 1-1/2” strips
B1: 5/8 yd (or 20”) for Outer Border, Cut into (4) 5” strips
Binding: 1/2 yd
Backing: 2-3/4 yd
Fabric Notes: The class sample uses the same fabric for BE6 and BE7, but the pattern allows for each spike to be split
down the center into two colors, if desired. The finished quilt size is 40”, which is 2-4” smaller than the typical width of
fabric. If you plan to quilt on a domestic machine and don’t need a lot of backing overhang, you could use a 1-1/4 yd cut
for the backing instead of the 2-3/4 yd called for in the pattern.
